How is Quarriors going with kids? I have an 8-year-old that plays Ticket to Ride and 7 Wonders fine. Thanks.

Quarriors is great!  I too have an 8-year-old, and Quarriors is currently his favorite game (he’s also a big TTR fan).  We’ve played Dominion a few times, and while he really likes the mechanics, I think the move from reading the card text (some of the text can be challenging) to strategizing combos (which makes the game challenging) can be overwhelming at times.  Quarriors still has the card text, but by combining that with dice and a very straightforward sequence of play, the dice combos seem to be easier for him to manage.  Plus, you get to roll a ton of dice, which (for him) is more appealing at the tactile level than shuffling/holding a bunch of cards.  If you haven’t discovered them already, you should check out the review from the ShutUpShow boys here.  Quinns makes the point that the game feels more like a toy than a game at times, and that’s not a bad thing — it’s certainly won over the toy-fiend in my house.

BTW, sorry for the delay on this response — I’ve been away from the Nets for a bit.  And thanks for reading.
